Singapore Culinary Institute (SCI) is wholly owned by Restaurant Association of Singapore. SCI is the first and only culinary school in Singapore that emphasizes in Chinese cuisine. SCI offers courses in F&B Services as well as Chinese Culinary Arts.

Chairman's Message

Since early civilization culinary techniques including preparation, serving and appreciation of food have been developed to the highest level. Cooking and food service are considered both an art and a science and has occupied an important position in various cultures. Confucius once said that culinary art is also an enjoyment of life and he described it as one of the beautiful and gentle things, which contribute to the peace, and harmony of society.

The art of cooking and service combines tastes and textures with table etiquette, social sharing of food and presentation.

At the Singapore Culinary Institute (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Restaurant Association of Singapore), our mission is to be the leading Food & Beverage Training School, where learning is shaped by Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes. It is a place where, graduates are inspired by instructors to become professional practitioners in the provision of authentic Chinese cuisine.

A Brand New School

SCI has moved to its brand new $3 million 19,000 square ft School at Redhill in May 2007. The school is equipped with modern facilities to provide an inspirational landscape and surroundings for learning and socialization. It features:

• 2 Classrooms and 1 Demonstration Classroom
• 3 Training Kitchens and 1 Show Kitchen
• Events Hall
• Library

About SCI Trainers

SCI has a large pool of in-house and associate trainers who are well-qualified and with vast experience in the various kinds of F&B establishments. As they are from the F&B scene, they will be able to impart their knowledge to the participants based on the current trends.  SCI trainers are approved by the WDA.
